About The RoleWe are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. Last week, you might have:
  • Worked in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
  • Utilized assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
  • Built meaningful relationships with participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
  • Developed and implemented Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, utilizing positive behaviour support frameworks
  • Conducted Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
  • Collaborated within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges
  • Attended weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee, and laughs
  • Tapped into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor

To work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will need a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters, or Graduate Diploma) and registration such as:
  • Occupational Therapist with AHPRA registration
  • Speech Pathologist with SPA registration
  • Social Worker with AASW membership eligibility
  • Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA registration
  • Degree in Psychology, Psychological/Social Science, or related field
Additional requirements include:
  • Deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (evidence of letter required)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
  • Positive and flexible approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and team orientation
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth
  • Valid Australian driver's license
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Working with Children's Check
