Role:

We're seeking a Cyber Security Architect and Advisory Lead to join a high-performing cyber risk and architecture team. This is a technical hands-on leadership role - ideal for someone who can go deep into cloud security architecture (AWS and Azure), while also guiding and influencing stakeholders across the business.

You'll be responsible for delivering ISMS-aligned risk assessments, shaping security design in complex environments, and providing clear, practical guidance to both a team of cyber risk advisors, technical team members, and business leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the Cyber Security team to deliver technical security advice and cloud risk assessments.
• Partner with solutions architects and cloud engineers to shape secure, scalable solutions in AWS and Azure.
• Conduct formal IT solution security reviews across large-scale projects.
• Provide practical security advice on cloud security solution designs, and delegate effectively to team members.
• Drive the operational delivery of the ISMS framework.
• Engage and influence internal and external stakeholders, explaining both technical and risk concepts clearly.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience designing or advising on secure cloud architectures - particularly in AWS and Azure (not just consuming services but helping shape them).
• Strong hands-on understanding of native cloud security controls and architectural patterns.
• Exposure to frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, or COBIT, with a working understanding of risk assessments.
• Confident communicator who can engage with architects, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications such as AWS/Azure Security, Solution Architecture, or CISSP are highly regarded - but depth of technical capability is valued more than a list of credentials.

Who This Is Not For:

• If you've primarily operated at the consulting or governance layer, and are removed from technical architecture or cloud security design, this role may not suit.
• If you're not comfortable answering design-level questions, producing artefacts, or being held accountable for architectural outcomes, this won't be the right fit.
