The RoleThe Care Services Assistant plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice. Responsibilities include the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals, and providing care and support aligned with residents' preferred daily routines with a strong focus on:
- Meal choices and individual nutrition
- Consideration of allergies and food intolerances
- Enhancing the overall dining experience
- Assisting with meal selection and meal timing preferences
- Preparing and setting up dining areas to meet individual needs
- Engaging with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes
- Using empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience
- Promoting resident choice and dignity
- Maintaining dining areas and providing meal service to meet individual resident choices
- Maintaining accurate nutrition and diet information as required
- Assisting with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework
- Assisting with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- A compassionate and caring attitude
- Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded)
- Willingness to take direction from others
- Reliability and shift flexibility
- Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Valid working rights in Australia
- Complete a police check
- Seasonal Flu vaccinations (or willingness to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination
