Overview

The Y Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation with leading services in childcare, fitness, schools, housing, hospitality, youth recreation and community programs. YMCA Bowen Hills are seeking a passionate and motivated Group Fitness Coordinator on a Casual Basis to join our team located in Bowen Hills.

The Group Fitness Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating our group fitness program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality classes, managing the Group Fitness Instructor team, handling administrative duties and driving community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the group fitness timetable by providing recommendations to the Fitness Manager regarding adding or removing classes based upon performance and attendance
  • Ensure the quality control of the services and programs provided to members
  • Conduct regular member feedback sessions and surveys to establish satisfaction levels
  • Complete all administrative, point of sale and clerical tasks
  • Actively seek to establish new and innovative classes to maintain a fresh and vibrant timetable
  • Participate in special events such as open days, launches, seminars, functions and other special promotional events
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Group Fitness Instructor, preferably with previous experience in Group Fitness Coordination or a similar leadership role within the fitness industry
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR Certificates, or willingness to obtain
  • Certificate III in Fitness and registration with Fitness Australia
  • Les Mills Instructors must hold current certification from Les Mills Australia
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients
  • High level of proficiency in using computer software and applications relevant to administrative tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating the capability to work independently
  • Currently possess a National Police Check and Positive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain
