Overview

Greencross Veterinary Hospital Werribee is looking for an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join their team on a permanent part-time or full-time basis. Our state-of-the-art facility is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, offering a wide range of services to pet owners in western Melbourne. We are dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care and supporting future practitioners through clinical experience at The University of Melbourne.

Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency and critical care in a busy ECC department.
  • Work with a team of registrars and specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Dentistry and Anaesthesia to manage complex cases requiring multidisciplinary care.
  • Handle cases such as mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients, septic cases requiring extensive monitoring and instrumentation, and postoperative ICU referrals.
  • Contribute to on-the-floor training of DVM students from the University of Melbourne and to the Greencross Vet Hospital ECC internship program.
  • Participate in continuing education activities, including morbidity and mortality rounds and ECC journal club discussions.
  • Maintain a flexible roster that supports shift work and ensures time off for recovery.
Qualifications
  • Experienced ECC Veterinarian with a passion for emergency and critical care.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment and train students and interns.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in our internship program.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia; visa and relocation support available for international applicants.
