Overview

Safety Business Partner – join a team where safety and people come first We're seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Safety Business Partner to champion our safety culture at Nyrstar Hobart. In this pivotal role within our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team, you'll work closely with leaders, employees, and contractors to drive safety ownership, simplify systems, and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and best practice standards.

You will thrive on the people-focused aspect of this role, fostering strong relationships through effective communication and promoting safety with your active onsite presence. Working at a complex site in a small team with a broad scope, you'll have the opportunity to expand your skills, develop your career, and gain diverse experience.

What you'll do
  • Partner with leaders to embed and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Coach, mentor, and engage teams to maintain and improve safe behaviours and practices.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Simplify and enhance health, safety, and risk management systems for maximum effectiveness.

  • Proven capability to communicate, engage, and influence effectively at all levels across a diverse workforce.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, relevant codes of practice, and industry standards.
