Company Description
Welcome to Ability Action Australia
We are a multi-disciplinary team of allied health practitioners providing services within the NDIS landscape. We are passionate about empowering participants to achieve their goals and engage in the activities most important to them. We love what we do, and we hope you will too
Job DescriptionOur Brisbane team is growing We have been providing NDIS services in the Brisbane region since 2020 and we are seeking a passionate and energetic Speech Pathologist to help us make a difference in participants' lives.
We love nothing more than seeing our participants achieve their goals. We live and breathe capacity building and hope to empower participants by:
- Using a strengths-based approach to guide our assessment, goals, and ultimately our intervention.
- Utilising a combination of standardised and non-standardised assessment, curated to the participants' needs to guide our clinical reasoning.
- Collaborating with our multi-disciplinary peers across the region. We have OTs, Physios, EPs, Psychologists, and Behaviour Support Practitioners.
- Visiting and supporting participants in the environment that best suits their goals; this could be at home, at school, or anywhere in the community where participant skills can be put into action.
- Ideally, you have been working as a Speech Pathologist for a couple of years and you have a keen interest in supporting participants with a variety of differing needs and abilities.
- You are excited to work with a growing multi-disciplinary team.
- You have a passion for delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- You are looking for a fun, collaborative, and supportive work environment
Exploring and navigating complex situations with our colleagues, engaging in 1:1 supervision, journal clubs, as well as team and national-based in-services are just some of the ways you can expect to be supported in this role. We also offer:
- An uplifting values and people-led working environment.
- Unlimited leadership and career growth options through Ability Action Australia and our parent company, MedHealth.
- The opportunity to work from home with flexible or reduced hours.
- Essential employee benefits such as Fitness Passport, Novated leasing options, Employee Assistance Program, and generous leave arrangements.
- Investment in your ongoing professional development throughout your career with us, including access to regular CPD events and the MedHealth Academy.
To be considered suitable, you will have:
- Current certified practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
- Experience as a Speech Pathologist beyond graduation.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
- Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas.
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
