What's on offer?
Fulton Hogan Utilities / Trenchless Technologies is seeking a Construction Manager to lead our scaling operations in South Australia through a true hybrid role that merges field leadership with project management. This position offers the unique opportunity to take ownership over both day-to-day field activities and the broader commercial performance of our major infrastructure operation.

You'll play a pivotal part in setting up the SA business for long-term growth: maintaining accountability for safety and field team development, optimising construction delivery, and ensuring all project and customer objectives are met. At the same time, you'll have the chance to influence financial decisions and P&L outcomes. The role will directly influence the future direction of Fulton Hogan Trenchless Technologies in South Australia and beyond.

In this role you'll be responsible for:

• Ensure good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders are maintained and provide strong and effective leadership skills, both on and off site
• Ability to manage construction phases of large, complex, turnkey infrastructure Construction projects
• Coordinating project delivery activities to achieve project time, budget and quality objectives
• Managing, lead and optimise internal and subcontractor field team operations, setting clear safety, productivity and quality standards/ culture and driving continuous skills development
• Attending site with crews to gain real-time insight into operational activities and provide on-the-ground guidance
• Developing and implementing initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity and overall operational performance
• Interacting with the pre-contracts team in assisting with tendering, methodology, scheduling and cost estimating.

How you'll connect to the role:

• Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management or a related field
• Strong self-perform experience, establishing and running multi-disciplinary crews (locating, non-destructive digging, dig/lay, drilling, links, pit install, reinstatement, etc...) on multiple work fronts
• Demonstrated ability to set standards, drive culture and performance, and foster skills development at all team levels
• Proficiency in project financial management, forecasting, procurement, contract management, and design management
• Demonstrated experience running regional workforce in FIFO arrangement
• Demonstrated experience in the successful management of complex construction infrastructure projects above $25M contract value
• Strong track record delivering safety, quality and productivity improvements through hands-on leadership and adopting and driving Fulton Hogan's Living Safely 2.0 culture.
