About Us: We are leaders in mental health service delivery, specialising in working with adults and young people, and in early childhood intervention. Stride is a name that expresses our ambition – it's a purposeful name that reflects our role in the recovery journey. Join us to make a difference as we embark on our next stage.

About the service: The Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) service model is tailored to the needs of the local community, offering a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support to create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress. It provides low-risk individuals with alternatives to presenting to the Emergency Department and access support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical setting.

On offer:

  • Based in Caboolture, QLD
  • Permanent, part-time opportunity
  • Paying on SCHADS Level 3 plus Super
  • Salary Packaging options (up to $15,899 tax free)
  • Meals and entertainment allowance of up to $2,650
  • Leave loading at 17.5%
  • Stride Rewards – discounts from 100s of retailers
  • One paid wellbeing leave day per year
  • Purchase up to 5 additional leave days in a 12-month period (pro-rata for part-time)
  • Paid parental leave support
  • Supportive team environment
  • Excellent training and career development opportunities

Role overview: The purpose of this role is to lead, organise, and engage priority groups within the community. It includes both operational and service delivery responsibilities, with the goal of ensuring all individuals in the priority groups can access the support and services they need.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting all cultural governance activities, including collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator
  • Promoting the service, maintaining communication, and building relationships with program partners and stakeholders
  • Providing individual support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Pacific Islander, and Maori people and families
  • Collaborating with local Elders and communities to create culturally appropriate referral pathways into head to Health
  • Providing cultural support and training for non-Indigenous staff as required

Requirements:

  • Ideally tertiary education in Education, Community Development, or a health-related sector
  • Experience in roles such as Health Promotion Officer, Community Development, Mental Health provider, or service provider
  • Understanding and passion for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their families
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of early intervention principles for youth mental health
  • Ability to work collaboratively to plan and coordinate psychosocial interventions
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Mastercare, CMS, IT systems)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must hold a Blue Card and be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
  • Must operate a C class motor vehicle

Stride is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable people. All applicants must undergo screening processes prior to appointment. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, including those with lived experience of mental health recovery, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ community, and people with disabilities.

Application process: To apply, complete the online application form, attach your CV and cover letter outlining your suitability. The closing date is 16 May 2025. For queries, email recruitment@stride.com.au or visit recruitment@stride.com.au.
