Overview

The Project Manager will join the Program Delivery team to oversee the planning and delivery of civil and road projects. Reporting to the Project Management Coordinator, the role will manage projects in line with Council's project management processes, ensuring compliance with governance, contract and procurement requirements. The position will also provide advice and support across the Program Delivery team, contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices, and ensure that projects meet safety, budget and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee planning and delivery of civil and road projects within Council's project management framework.
  • Manage projects in line with governance, contract and procurement requirements.
  • Provide advice and support across the Program Delivery team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, budget and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience as a project manager with a proven track record in delivering civil and road projects.
  • Strong contract administration, stakeholder engagement, and construction management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and capability to negotiate with contractors and consultants.
  • Positive attitude and alignment with Council values; ability to contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • Qualifications in civil engineering, project management or construction management are desirable; experience in local government or complex stakeholder environments is advantageous.
