Job Description

Due to continued growth throughout the business, MLG is currently seeking anenthusiastic and dedicated Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor to join our Inventory and Purchasing team.Reporting to our Inventory and Purchasing Manager, this position is:

  • A Perth based role (For a Perth based role, you will be required to travel to Kalgoorlie for 1 week minimum per month - travel & accommodation provided)
  • A Permanent full-time position
  • Monday to Friday, 50 hour week between the hours of 7am - 5pm

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of customers, stakeholders and suppliers in order to facilitate efficient delivery of goods and services to clients
  • Actively involved in the day to day purchasing team activities, PR to PO requests, source & procure materials from supplier, check & receipt goods, raise purchase requisitions for site
  • Freight loading/unloading in line with COR
  • Ensure freight travels consistently to ensure a reliable turnaround from site
  • Facilitate freight preparation and documentation
  • Ensure express freight is handled and dispatched according to its priority
  • Assigns daily tasks to Purchasing team to set and manage priorities.
  • Complete performance and development reviews as required in conjunction with Inventory and Purchasing Manager.
  • Ensures physical arrangement of receivables and dispatch areas are adequate for the process to operate safely and efficiently
  • Assist in development of procedures and coaches' employees on processes for the physical receipt of goods from suppliers.
  • Develop and document training plan for new starters joining the business.
  • Complies with and ensures team compliance with Inventory and Purchasing related policies/procedures.
  • Oversee stocktake process and investigates variances, identifies areas of improvement to process, and implements accordingly.
  • Assist in cost reduction initiatives across the business.
  • Review supply categories, analyse usage data and put forward recommendations to consolidate suppliers.
  • Assist in the rollout and implementation of new supply agreements. This includes, but not limited to, catalogue management, documenting procedures, training personnel and communication to the workforce.
Desired Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role you will have the following skills & attributes:

  • Australia based candidate
  • Current & Valid Driver's licence
  • 5 + years of procurement and inventory management experience
  • Experience in managing and leading a team
  • Experience working with a computerised ERP environment, preferably Pronto & Therefore
  • A certificate in Warehouse and Supply Chain Management required
  • The ability to pass a Pre-employment medical, incl. Drug & Alcohol screen
  • Experience with Microsoft Office - preferably Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Excellent presentation, organisation and communication skills
  • Have a strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines
