As an Interior Design Assistant, you will be involved in planning and crafting beautiful furniture pieces and interiors, ensuring the smooth operation of the client experience within the business. You will also assist with the promotion and marketing of the Mark Alexander Design brand.

We seek a smart, self-motivated individual passionate about design, interior design, and beautiful furniture, who can help craft design processes and articles to showcase our work across Australia. Applicants should be studying or have completed a degree in interior design, design, journalism, content marketing, or related fields. The role is flexible for either part-time or full-time work, based at our head office and production facilities in Ballarat. Candidates should have a good understanding of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, image editing tools (Canva or Photoshop), and the ability to create engaging content.

Currently, we have one in-house assistant position available at our Ballarat headquarters.

* For applicants traveling from Melbourne, transportation expenses and paid travel time can be negotiated. Our head office is conveniently located one block from Ballarat station, a five-minute walk.

We are looking for someone highly organized, driven, and eager to succeed both professionally and personally.

Applicants should be comfortable using a MAC computer and possess intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Requirements include:

• Proficiency with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience with MS Office, including Excel for spreadsheets and quotes
• Basic understanding of architectural floor plans
• Attention to detail and ability to interpret design drawings
• Experience in interior design or architecture is a plus
• Proficiency with Gmail, email communication
• Excellent phone manners and customer relations skills
• Comfort with iPhone and apps like WeChat, sharing files via AirDrop
• Time management and multitasking skills
• Organizational and scheduling abilities
• Strong mathematical skills
• Meticulous attention to detail, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company
• Photography and video editing skills are desirable
