Assistant Educator - Early Childhood | Sunshine Coast

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Educator to support teaching staff across our Kindy and/or Pre-Kindy rooms. This is a part-time position (4 days per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday) rostered between 6:45am and 5:45pm. The center operates 48 weeks per year, aligned with Education Queensland term dates, and remains open during school holidays. Reduced hours may be available during holiday periods depending on enrolments. The center closes for 4 weeks over Christmas/New Year, where staff are encouraged to take annual leave. Situated on the Sunshine Coast, the center is part of a well-established Pre-Prep to Year 12 co-educational Christian College. About The Role

As an Assistant Educator, you'll play a key role in creating a warm, engaging and safe learning environment. You'll:

  • Support Lead Educators in planning and implementing high-quality, child-led programs.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Assist with daily routines, activities, and learning experiences guided by the EYLF, NQF and NQS.
  • Contribute to the vibrant culture of our centre, where collaboration and care are central.
Position Requirements
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care (or currently studying towards)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certification
  • Paid Blue Card
  • Previous experience in an Early Childhood setting (essential)
  • Strong understanding of EYLF, NQF, and NQS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of professionalism
  • Flexible and positive attitude, with the ability to adapt to dynamic environments
  • Advantageous: Experience with Bush or Beach Kindy and/or the Kathy Walker Learning Approach
