Due to an internal promotion, this well known Australian company is seeking a Transport Manager. This organisation supplies essential product and service solutions nationally and is known for its strong brand, peak-season impact, and exceptional customer commitment.

As Transport Manager, you'll take full accountability for day-to-day transport operations across South East QLD, including team leadership, fleet coordination, contractor performance and safety compliance.

Reporting to the General Manager National Transport, you'll manage a team of Allocators, Customer Service Officers and Drivers (both employees and contractors), and be the key transport link across a complex multi-site and multi-region network.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead all transport operations for the state, including planning, allocation, scheduling and delivery oversight
  • Ensure safety, service, cost and compliance outcomes across daily and seasonal operations
  • Manage a diverse fleet, including company-owned and contractor vehicles, across metro and regional deliveries
  • Build and lead high-performing teams across allocations, customer service and frontline driver groups
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across sales and operations to ensure aligned execution
  • Manage contractor sourcing, peak-season uplift and performance, including invoice oversight and compliance
  • Lead Christmas peak planning, including palletised deliveries, driver coverage and post-season reviews
  • Own the customer experience from a transport lens – taking accountability for issues, escalations and improvements
Experience required:
  • Proven experience in a senior transport operations or logistics leadership role
  • Strong leadership capability across both employed and contracted workforces
  • Excellent communication and planning skills, with a calm and proactive leadership style
  • Hands-on experience with transport management systems and Excel reporting
  • Ability to work across high-pressure peak periods, including public holidays
  • Exposure to FMCG or time-sensitive delivery environments is highly regarded
