Senior Account Manager Cargo - Sydney role at Air New Zealand

Everyday Air New Zealand Cargo connects the best of New Zealand's exports to the world, the world to New Zealand, and New Zealanders with each other. Air New Zealand Cargo works with shippers, exporters, freight forwarders, and industry bodies to develop long-term, sustainable growth plans. We are looking for an energetic and innovative professional to join us as a Senior Account Manager (Senior Sales Specialist Cargo). Based in Sydney, this role will support our customers across a range of cargo channels.

Key responsibilities
  • Strategic Client Partnerships: Create and drive sales strategies that are focused on growth and aligned with our customers' needs.
  • Sales Performance: Develop and execute account growth plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Champion Change: Support customers in adopting new systems in line with the Air New Zealand Cargo transformation.
  • Foster strong collaboration: Work across internal teams and external stakeholders, bridging sales and operations to deliver seamless outcomes.
  • Market Insight and Innovation: Leverage insights and trends to shape innovative strategies that keep us responsive to customer needs and ahead of the curve.

As a trusted advisor, you are confident and agile in identifying opportunities and answering any questions that come your way. You will balance multiple tasks, work proactively, and contribute to creating a high-performing team culture.

Qualifications / experience
  • Strong strategic thinking and business advisory experience, or experience in International Trade, Cargo, Freight/Logistics, or services industries where value-based selling is prevalent.
  • Excellent planning and execution skills with a proven ability to drive results.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management abilities to build and maintain customer trust.
  • Ability to work with senior commercial leaders to implement improvements and ensure efficient operations.
  • Based in Sydney or willing to operate from Sydney as part of the role.
