Along with incumbent management and working alongside the Business Owner, this is an exciting opportunity for a Hospitality Manager with suitable experience to join the dynamic team at Nevermind Bar, building their hospitality career.

"Nevs" is a Hawthorn institution. Nevermind's operations include multiple Bars, a vibrant Band Room & Performance Space, several popular function spaces, and an all-day and all-night food & beverage offering, providing good times to the people of Hawthorn's university precinct for the past 27 years.

As Nevermind Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the business's daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless food, beverage, and entertainment experience for our guests.

Nevermind Bar operates 7 days a week from midday until late.

The Manager's responsibilities include operational oversight, communication, and management of all stakeholders – including, but not limited to, Bar Staff, Kitchen Staff, Live Acts & Artists, DJs, Security, Liquor Licensing authorities, and our patrons.

Nevermind Bar is a local neighbourhood favourite that offers a safe, inclusive, and atmospheric environment for relaxed dining, rooftop drinks, and evening socialising. It is an energetic and upbeat venue that also provides a slower, cozier rhythm as a local hangout.

Our beloved open-air rooftop beer gardens, Band Room, and three bars are cherished by all, whether sippers, diners, or dancers.

This full-time role (part-time options available & negotiable for the right candidate) offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, vibrant environment and contribute to the ongoing success of this acclaimed venue.

What we are looking for:

  • Hospitality management experience, ideally in a pub or nightclub setting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • The ability to resolve conflicts and handle customer complaints effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly on your feet
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering world-class service
