The Opportunity

Joii offers secure, well-paid positions where your work makes a community difference. Due to ongoing projects, we are urgently seeking enthusiastic and motivated qualified Fitter - Mechanic (General) within our Queensland Trades Team.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to work as part of a team to create, maintain, and operate reliable production lines and testing facilities for manufacturing automotive products.

Essential Skills Needed

  • Qualification and/or 2+ years' experience as a Fitter or Mechanic with relevant Fitter experience
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines
  • Experience operating high-speed manufacturing equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of fundamental principles
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems and processes
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Self-motivation and responsibility
  • Solution-focused approach and problem-solving skills

Additional Information

Must have MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade and Fitting AQF Certificate III (with at least two years of on-the-job training) or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) as a Fitter or Mechanic with fitter experience.

Tasks Include

  • Fitting fabricated parts into products and assembling parts/subassemblies to produce finished products
  • Ensuring tasks comply with SOPs and quality standards
  • Adjusting settings during production for quality and efficiency
  • Following procedures and interpreting specifications for materials and machine settings
  • Checking parts for accuracy and fit using measuring instruments
  • Producing components to quality standards within cycle times
  • Reporting safety, component, or equipment issues promptly
  • Performing daily pre-start checks on machinery
  • Learning new tasks and developing multi-skilling
  • Assisting with machinery repair and maintenance
  • Contributing to team improvement activities
