On Country Business is a business group that provides flexible business solutions that respect Indigenous culture and partners with Indigenous groups. We work with other Indigenous Businesses to provide solutions to our clients.

The role of the Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting Partners On Country General Manager to identify and pursue opportunities for business growth whilst fostering strategic partnerships and driving revenue growth. You will actively research market trends, seek and develop business opportunities, and work closely with internal stakeholders and the Partners On Country team to meet current and new client needs and expand our market presence.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Identify new business and account growth opportunities and work with the General Manager to pursue these opportunities and implement new solutions for candidates and clients.
  • Identify potential clients, develop proposals, and close deals.
  • Implement business development initiatives and annual business plans as agreed for location.
  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships, to promote awareness and profitable business relationships.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to provide valuable insights to both clients and candidates and continuously refine strategies based on changing landscapes.
  • Leverage expertise in Indigenous Procurement and Employment to understand its impact on business development, ensuring strategic alignment with market opportunities.
  • Identify attraction and development initiatives to enable a sustainable pipeline of Indigenous talent that aligns with client requirements and fosters long-term employment outcomes.
  • Network with clients, industry professionals and Indigenous Partners to obtain market information and new business opportunities.

Experience/Qualifications

  • A high level of intrinsic drive and resilience to succeed in a fast-paced and competitive industry.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, constantly seeking ways to adapt in this market to achieve business objectives.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to achieve excellence that will see you create and capitalise on opportunities to build key industry relationships.
  • An ability to quickly build rapport, communicate value and win new business.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, who can work collaboratively with various departments to achieve business objectives.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification e.g.: Business, Management.
  • Experience in business development or sales where skills may include managing various stakeholder relationships, identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Experience with Partners On Country and AWX business and processes.
