Join the team that keeps Qantas aircraft safe, reliable, and ready to fly. As the Production Planning Manager at our Brisbane Maintenance Base, you'll play a key leadership role in managing and coordinating all production planning activities for heavy maintenance operations.

About the role

This role is accountable for delivering on-time, efficient, and high-quality maintenance outcomes through effective planning and coordination. You'll manage a team of Production and Workshop Planners and work collaboratively with operational teams, supply chain, and commercial planning to support business performance. Your focus will be on aircraft maintenance planning, safety, and continuous improvement while leading the team with a positive and solutions-driven approach.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead all production planning for base maintenance day to day activities ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Check Coordinators, Operations Managers, and support teams to ensure timely aircraft maintenance delivery.
  • Oversee planning schedules, resource allocation, and risk management across multiple maintenance lines.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to the leadership team on work in progress, milestones, and performance.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staff development, performance, and team engagement.
  • Drive lean processes and deliver on cost and operational targets.

What you'll bring

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in aircraft maintenance or related activity, including leadership of planning or production teams.
  • Strong understanding of CASA regulations and heavy maintenance environments.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for safety, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
