Appointment to the role is on a fixed-term, flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) for three years

Salary: $83,011 to $95,547 per annum plus superannuation

Position Objective: Provide sports performance services to TIS supported athletes and coaches.

This role provides integrated performance services to athletes and coaches, combining expertise in sport science and strength & conditioning. It is designed to help coaches incorporate evidence-based principles into planning, feedback, and athlete development strategies. The role also delivers direct S&C and sport science testing services to optimise physical performance and reduce injury risk.

Duties:

  • Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based strength and conditioning programs tailored to the goals and needs of TIS athletes, incorporating principles of adaptation, periodisation, tapering, and rehabilitation.
  • Deliver hands-on support in the daily training environment across Hobart and Launceston, as well as at camps, competitions, and other venues as required.
  • Build strong working relationships with athletes to understand their development goals and challenges and tailor programming accordingly.
  • Apply data analytics and sport technology to monitor progress, inform decision-making, and adapt training plans in real time.
