About the Role

Tronox is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Team at the Northshore Mineral Sand Plant based in Bunbury (opposite the Dolphin Discovery Centre on Koombana Beach). This is a full-time, permanent position, working a 38-hour week compressed into a 9-day fortnight, with every second Friday off. Hours are 6:00am – 3:00pm.

Responsibilities
  • Experience in removal, installation, maintenance and overhaul of rotating equipment, pumps, piping, compressors, elevators and conveyor equipment
  • Identify and report defects and suggest improvements to plant equipment, methods and procedures
  • Provide a proactive approach to preventative maintenance; maintain a high standard of workmanship during breakdowns
  • Complete documentation to a high standard for Tronox's Maintenance Systems (SAP)
  • Commit to a positive safety, hazard identification and reporting culture
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Assist Operators as required, including preparing and isolating equipment
  • Record process information and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Be willing to participate in a call-out roster
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate - Fitting (essential)
  • Previous experience in a Mechanical Maintainer role including process plants, pumps, structural, mechanical and piping works within the mineral sands mining industry (highly desirable)
  • Current C Class Drivers' Licence (unrestricted, essential)
  • High Risk License (desirable)
  • Team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently if required
  • Strong commitment to safety
