Overview

Staff development Nurse – Innovation and Education. East Metropolitan Health Service is seeking an organised and proactive professional who is passionate about delivering high quality education and contributing to an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of people in our community.

We are seeking to appoint suitably experienced person(s) to the position of Staff Development Nurse – ED, ICU, Acute Medical Unit, Acute Surgical, Orthopaedic/Spinal, Trauma Unit, and Inpatient Mental Health. The Staff Development Nurse is responsible for education and training to support workforce development and, as part of the multidisciplinary team, plans, implements and evaluates orientation, education and training at the ward or unit level. This role facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care and works collaboratively to ensure service is delivered in accordance with health service policy and standards. The Staff Development Nurse practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement and evaluate orientation, education and training at ward or unit level as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver high quality education and training to support workforce development and patient safety and quality of care.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure services are delivered in line with health service policy and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • suitably experienced person(s) to the position and capable of delivering education in ED, ICU, Acute Medical Unit, Acute Surgical, Orthopaedic/Spinal, Trauma Unit, and Inpatient Mental Health.
  • Experience designing, delivering and evaluating education and training in your area of specialty during the last 2 years.
  • Experience managing staff who have not met learning milestones and/or require performance management.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and applying it to education planning.
