We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Joondanna Aged Care Home. Our first site, Bethanie Joondanna, is a 60-bed facility with two buildings set amongst a lush garden setting, supporting people with high care requirements and dementia.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience or an interest in food preparation and be friendly, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.

This role is offered on a permanent part-time basis, working 30 hours per fortnight across the following roster, with the ability to pick up additional casual shifts:

Week 1 : Thursday and Friday 7am - 2pm, Sunday 3pm - 7pm

Week 2 : Tuesday and Friday 7am - 2pm

About You

  • Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital, or similar environment
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and genuine compassion for our residents
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of The Bethanie Group
  • Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
  • Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to apply for one)

The Role

  • Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and hygiene standards
  • Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
  • Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
  • Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches, and surrounds in a clean and safe condition
  • Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery
