About the roleJoin Origin as a Mechanical Fitter at Eraring Power Station. The role focuses on hydraulics and pneumatics and provides a range of technical and engineering services to meet Eraring's Business Plan and performance objectives, including engineering projects, fault finding, maintenance and testing. The position works with Operators and seeks guidance from Senior Mechanical Fitters and Maintenance Team Leaders.
Responsibilities- Promote and support a safety-based work culture as a key component of maintenance, including risk management of the team's environment, methods, tools and equipment.
- Ensure sound communication and positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Maintain and keep functional all mechanical systems.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, assess priorities and meet targets.
- Provide technical advice to assist planning of complex jobs including safety requirements.
- Relevant Trade Certificate and Craftsman's Certificate of Proficiency.
- Post-trade experience.
- Willingness to work day or shift work as required.
- Knowledge and experience of plant, equipment, materials and maintenance methods used in Power Stations or similar heavy industry.
- Knowledge of plant operation, inter-related effects of plant items and the consequences of plant failure.
- Sound knowledge and commitment to safety methods.
- Proven prioritising, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience advantageous.
