Looking to take the next step in your career? Our Brisbane team is seeking a Graduate Simulation Engineer to serve the Australia-Asia (AUA) region. This role will be based in Brisbane, at one of Hatch's Global Delivery Centre offices. Immediate start available.

We are seeking Graduate Engineering or Science students with an analytical mindset who enjoy developing software and solving complex problems. The successful candidate will analyze complex industrial systems focusing on capacity analysis, debottlenecking, and process and operations optimization. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a global team responsible for designing, improving, and implementing integrated technical, human, and financial solutions through analytical skills, discrete event simulation, and other engineering techniques.

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Analyze operational and design data
• Conduct observations or surveys on industrial sites
• Perform analytical calculations
• Develop spreadsheet models
• Create dynamic simulation models (discrete-event simulation)
• Undertake analytical and simulation studies considering design and operating options to maximize capital returns, reduce operating costs, or improve production output
• Compile reports on technical content and findings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

You bring to the role:

• Bachelor's (or higher) degree in engineering or science
• Strong academic background in mathematics and statistics is preferable
• Interest in dynamic simulation and development of simulation models
• Experience with discrete event simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, Arena, Simul8, Simio) is advantageous
• Programming skills in at least one object-oriented language (e.g., VBA, Java, C++, C#) are beneficial
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and autonomously
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Willingness to travel and work remotely on sites internationally
• Commitment to delivering high-quality work
