About The OPPORTUNITYWe have a new opportunity for a Safety Engineer to join the Test & Commissioning (T&C) department in our Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Program based in Osborne, SA.
You'll work closely with engineers and technicians to drive risk assessments, implement safety procedures, and deliver critical engineering documents, and support Test & Commissioning teams and ensure ship systems are safely set to work and tested to program standards.
Key responsibilities include : Develop and maintain the Safety Plan and associated processes, ensuring alignment with company policies and safety standards Author and review Risk Assessments, Test Forms, and safety documentation related to electrical, welding, and control systems Act as the liaison between the safety team and Set-to-Work team, managing workflows and access in the e PAS Isolations Management and Permit tool Conduct safety audits and assist with the planning of isolation tasks Provide training and mentorship on Safe Systems of Work (SSo W) processes and tools Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and production teams, to ensure safety compliance About YOUPrevious safety and engineering experience Relevant trade qualifications or tertiary education in a related field Strong problem-solving and engineering issue resolution skills Planning and task coordination skills We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and or hybrid working.
