About the role We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Material & Formulation Scientist to join our growing R&D team and contribute to the creation of cutting-edge dye formulations.
As a Material & Formulation Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimisation of novel dye formulations for both textile and cosmetic applications.
You will collaborate closely with a team of scientists to design, synthesise, and evaluate innovative dye compounds and formulations, ensuring they meet industry performance standards.

Key activities Design and execute experiments to develop innovative dye formulations for applications in cosmetics and textiles.
Optimize existing dye formulations to improve performance characteristics such as colour strength, fastness, and stability.
Conduct thorough testing and analysis of dye formulations, including colorimetric measurements, spectroscopic analysis, and stability studies to assess performance and quality.
Collaborate with the R&D team to optimise dyeing processes and improve product performance.
Perform dyeing tests to produce demonstration samples and customer-specific samples within specified timelines.
Stay at the forefront of dye chemistry innovations by researching emerging trends and advancements in materials science.
Contribute to technical reports and patent applications.
Maintain accurate records of experiments and adhere to safety regulations and laboratory best practices.
Qualifications Proven expertise in material science, chemistry, formulations chemistry or a related field evidenced by a postgraduate degree.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
Proficient in a range of laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
Highly detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accurate and meticulous record-keeping.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Enthusiasm for innovation to create a more sustainable world.
Desired not required: Experience working with dyes/pigments.2 years of industry experience working in the field of formulations chemistry or material science.
