About the Department for Correctional Services The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state.

Duties The Field Supervisor is responsible to the Manager Industries or Vocational Coordinator, Adelaide Pre-Release Centre for the planning, execution and quality control of field based programs including the development and maintenance of built infrastructure, weed control, construction, maintenance of fire access tracks, fuel reduction zones and other tasks that contribute to the implementation of works across Adelaide Region.
Special Conditions Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in accordance with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
Hours of duty are 38 per week, over five days (or rostered over 7 days in some institutions), some out of hours work may be required; The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check; A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential; A flexible approach to working hours is required; Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences; Required to successfully complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice within 12 months (if not already completed); Possess or be willing to undertake and complete successfully, training and accreditation in the safe operation of 4 WD vehicles over difficult terrain; Possess or be willing to undertake and complete successfully, competencies and accreditation in the safe operation of Chainsaw equipment; The Field Supervisor will be required to work through lunch on some occasions; however will be compensated as an annual allowance paid fortnightly for all purposes, according to the relevant Industrial Instrument; A Senior First Aid Certificate is required.
Requirements Essential: Certificate III in Correctional Practice (refer Special Conditions).

Possess or be willing to undertake and complete successfully, competencies and accreditation in the safe operation of Chainsaw equipment.

Additional Information This is a temporary vacancy for up to 12 months.
This is a full time vacancy at 1 FTE (76 hours per fortnight).
Successful applicant will be appointed at either classification depending on the qualification and experience held.
