Manager Strategy & Research (Sustainability) Manager Strategy & Research (Sustainability) Lead the alignment of MISC Group's Sustainability Strategic Priorities with committed targets, business planning and cascaded directives from the PETRONAS Group across MISC's Service Units (SUs), Business Units (BUs) and Subsidiaries.
Conduct research and benchmarking to assess current and future sustainability/ESG trends, opportunities, and risks impacting MISC Group's business.
Develop business-case-based recommendations including policies, procedures and guidelines to safeguard and improve MISC's sustainability performance.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Sustainability Framework and Strategy Lead the review of MISC Group's material sustainability matters that involve the engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
Lead, organise and coordinate MISC Group's development and annual review of its Sustainability Strategy against identified material sustainability matters, the Group's business ambitions and external stakeholder expectations.
Review and track MISC Group's performance against the commitments and targets indicated in the MISC Sustainability Strategy for reporting to Management.
Advise SUs, BUs, and subsidiaries on MISC Group's sustainability/ESG expectations and ensure alignment with the Group Sustainability Framework and Sustainability Strategy.
Strategic Planning and Research Undertake regular benchmarking exercises of MISC's sustainability practices and policies against peers and best practices and make business-case-based recommendations to the Management.
Continuously monitor, interpret, and analyse sustainability trends, opportunities, risks, and regulations that are material for MISC Group and develop transition plans with respective internal custodians to close gaps and/or ensure compliance and/or derive value.
Develop and cascade sustainability policies, practices and initiatives that should be adopted by the MISC Group.
Advise SUs, BUs, and subsidiaries on the adoption and streamlining of key performance indicators and sustainability metrics to ensure consistency throughout the Group.
Engagement Lead and coordinate the engagement sessions with the key stakeholders on sustainability strategy and other strategic sustainability initiatives, and to acquire feedback for continuous improvement.
Communicate and guide subsidiary Sustainability Teams on alignment to MISC Group's Sustainability Strategy.
People Development Positively influence, motivate, and cultivate a team spirit and cooperative attitude amongst peers/subordinates to develop capabilities within the Sustainability team and community of practitioners within the MISC Group.
REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATION: At least 12 years of relevant working experience in sustainability / environment-related roles.
At least 5 years of hands-on and/or advisory working experience in the development and implementation of sustainability strategy and initiatives at the Corporate / Group-wide level Ability to analyse and manage sustainability-related data/ information and present it concisely and effectively that meets the expectations of external stakeholders.
Well versed in sustainability matters including but not limited to climate change, human rights, governance, stakeholder engagement, biodiversity, social responsibility, etc.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Studies / Environmental Management / Sustainability or equivalent.
Masters' Degree in a related field is an added advantage.
