About The Role Delivery of surgical services through participation in clinical duties at the Senior House Officer level and in accordance with the policies and practices of the Children's Health Service District.
Actively participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team by working collaboratively and effectively with other health professionals.
Provides effective interaction at a primary patient care level, through ensuring patients and parents/caregivers are informed about their medical care and involved in decision making.
Meets training requirements by actively participating in educational activities including general paediatric surgery clinical meetings; paediatric grand rounds; registrar/resident education sessions; paediatric procedural skills training; teaching ward rounds; and unit-specific and consultant-based teaching.
Meets assessment and professional development requirements through the completion of assessment reports in conjunction with Registrars and Consultants.
Provides evaluation of term placements to enable the improvement of training, education and supervision provided to Senior House Officer's.
Provides assistance in teaching Interns, Medical Students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Actively participates in evidence-based practice and research.
Completes and maintains accurate and comprehensive medical record documentation.
Ensures patient confidentiality is maintained and the dignity of patients is respected.
Participates in the after-hours and on call rosters, as required Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, work, health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Develop a positive culture within division which encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities, and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing.
