About us John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north west of Melbourne.
With 186 registered beds, a 12 cubicle Emergency Department, 4 operating theatres, a 12-bed critical care complex, and a busy Day Procedure Unit, the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.
The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology.
As an emergency department Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include: Providing leadership and direction to the Emergency department team Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management Coordinating the delivery of evidence-based nursing care Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centred care in a team-focused environment Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to your team Being accountable for the effective management of human, financial, and material resources Undertaking direct patient care, as required Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National standards Maintaining current registration with AHPRAHaving a Working with Children check Possessing previous experience at NUM level or equivalent Holding a Post Graduate qualification in critical care and experience in a critical care setting Demonstrating a strong commitment to developing in a management role Management degree or working towards (desirable)Demonstrated HR management experience Sound knowledge of labour management Excellent verbal and written communication skills A commitment to high standards of clinical and customer-focused care High computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases Ability to work cohesively within a team environment Why Healthscope?When you join Healthscope, you become part of our Community of Care.
