
Senior Landscape Architect

The purpose of the Senior Landscape Architect is to support asset delivery and management programs including development and maintenance of technical policies, procedures and manuals that contribute to delivering systems relevant to protected area outdoor recreation visitor facilities and infrastructure management.
This position will assist in the selection, engagement and monitoring of external consultants.
This position will work on individual and team-based projects in both office and field environments, including in remote areas.
The role will use technical skills in Auto CAD LT, Adobe Creative Cloud & Microsoft 365 or equivalent software, to undertake reviews of drawings and specifications for technical adequacy, monitor progress, identify issues to support the design and delivery of facilities & infrastructure for QPWS&P.
Responsibilities
Support and guide the design of visitor facility and management infrastructure projects, and provide input to associated operational policies, guidelines and procedures.
Undertake review of drawings and specifications for technical adequacy, monitor progress, identify issues and develop systems, procedures and standards to support the design and delivery of parks infrastructure in protected area and marine parks.
Contribute to the preparation of correspondence, reports, submissions and briefing papers to accurately inform decision-making.
Establish and maintain positive relationships and consultative processes with internal and external stakeholders including members of the community, Indigenous peoples, special interest groups, other government agencies (local, state and federal) and industries relevant to effective asset management on the protected area estate.
Assist the Manager to represent QPWS&P in industry forums, interdepartmental and other committees.
Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
Qualifications / Experience
Experience in design, review of drawings and specifications for technical adequacy.
Proficiency in Auto CAD LT, Adobe Creative Cloud & Microsoft 365 or equivalent software.
Ability to work in office and field environments, including remote areas.
