The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a FDF Programs Officer to be part of
our Major Programs and Regions Division within the Department of
Primary Industries and Regions.
The role is part of the PIRSA Drought Support Team and will be
positioned in the Emergency Management, Drought and Resilience
Branch of the Major Programs and Regions Division or PIRSA.
The primary purpose of the role is to support the PIRSA Drought
Support Team to address the challenges of drought for primary
producers through service provision to the SA Drought Hub.
The SA Drought Hub is led by the University of Adelaide and
works in close collaboration with PIRSA and a range of industry
groups and partners, to work towards a common vision to strengthen
the drought resilience and preparedness of our primary producers
and regional communities in South Australia.
The role will support and promote FDF Programs and initiatives
to SA Drought Hub Stakeholders and communicate with FDF Programs
the work of stakeholders and SA Drought Hub activities to ensure
collaborative processes and best use of FDF resources.
It also
involves the co-design/development of collaborative projects and
activities.
The role requires proven project management skills, leadership
and teamwork capabilities, and understanding and communicating key
functions of the SA Drought Hub.
The FDF Programs Officer will be
responsible for organising, planning, and reporting on activities
led on behalf of the SA Drought Hub.
A high degree of empathy,
diplomacy and tact to achieve outcomes will be essential.
A high
degree of initiative and autonomy will be required for the
role.
The role contributes to the SA Drought Hub's Activity Work
Plan, as well as to PIRSA's priorities in managing risk, by
preparing for drought events that impact economic growth and
community wellbeing.

Special Conditions

Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily
complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an
offer of employment.
Australian residency or current works permit is required
(responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current
work permit).
Opportunity up to 30 June 2026.
Full time opportunity, 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements

Possession of a current driver's licence and
willingness to drive.
Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be
required.
You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations
and our expectations when applying for a role.
The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency
management training and must be willing to participate in
emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities
required by government agencies.

Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 min - $104,165 max per annum, plus
superannuation
