Your opportunity AsGroup Financial Controller, Finance , you willlead the critical financial reporting processes across the organisation including the consolidation of the financial results and the preparation of the interim and annual financial statements for the Group and Property Trust and ensure a robust enterprise control environment.
In this role you will be responsible for the following: Leadership People and Team Leadership - Effectively lead, motivate and coach a high performing team to exceed business objectives and manage personal and professional development across the Financial Reporting, Shared Services, Enterprise Control, and Centre of Excellence (COE) teams.
Financial Leadership – Provide financial leadership to the Group and expert accounting advice to the business unit finance teams in relation to transactions and projects including new business opportunities, acquisitions, disposals and investments to ensure the optimal outcome for the Group.
External Stakeholders – Actively lead the engagement with the Group's external auditors and BPO provider, ensuring a transparent, positive and value-add relationship is fostered.
Financial Reporting & Control Financial Reporting – Responsible for the consolidation of the financial results for the Group.
This also includes adherence to the regulatory reporting environment, ensuring the integrity of financial information, reporting in a timely manner and maintaining a robust close process with appropriate work papers, reconciliations and reviews.
External Reporting – Responsible for the overall external reporting strategy for the Group including the preparation of the Integrated Annual Report for MGR.
The role also oversees and supports the preparation of statutory accounts for the Mirvac Property Trust, subsidiaries, joint ventures and funds.
Sustainability Reporting and Assurance: Responsible for leading the Group's first mandatory climate disclosure in accordance with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards Work collaboratively with the Sustainability team and operating divisions to uplift and enhance data governance and reporting.
Project Management – Responsible for the planning and project management of the interim and annual reporting processes for the Group.
This includes planning, coordination, undertaking technical accounting reviews, audit engagement, preparing Board and Audit Committee papers and presentations.
Technical Accounting - Interpret and assess the impact of changes to accounting and industry standards and their application across the Group's operating segments.
This also includes educating and providing guidance on accounting and reporting matters to the broader finance community across the Group.
Risk Management – Partner with the Group Risk function to help develop and maintain a strong risk-based culture and environment, with risk profiles, risk assessments and control self-assessments operating effectively.
Finance Policies – Perform regular reviews of finance related policies and where required, develop new polices to support new and/or changed business structures and/or operating models.
Process and Systems Finance Platforms – Responsible for the COE and partnering with the Mirvac Digital to ensure the Yardi platform is operating effectively and optimized for Mirvac's integrated business model.
This includes identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance system capability whilst maintaining financial data integrity for the Group.
Continuous Improvement – foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement through process redesign, system review and best practice adoption to enhance the Group control environment and reporting processes in a collaborative manner.
Enterprise Control Framework – Develop and maintain a robust enterprise control environment, with policies and procedures documented and kept up to date.
This also includes ensuring the appropriate controls, processes and training programs are in place to ensure the Group complies with its regulatory and GS007 reporting obligations.
Finance Processes – Responsible for the design and operating effectiveness of the PTP, OTC and RTR processes for the Group as the Global Process Owner for these critical financial and operational processes.
Your point of difference The successful candidate will be CA/CPA/CFA qualified with demonstrated accounting experience in Property (new business structuring, accounting for business combinations delivery of projects and JV/third party).
With prior experience managing teams, you have a clear capability to lead, motivate, manage and mentor finance team members.
High level communication and stakeholder management skills are a requirement for this role as you will be required to interact and engage at all levels within the business.
Excellent attention to detail, well-developed analytical and problem solving skills will be required for this role.
You will have prior experience with system implementation and uplifting the control environment.
