
Emergency Medical Dispatch Support Officer

To achieve the best outcomes for patients, an EMDSO must be able to use assertive communication and problem-solving skills to guide and determine the most appropriate pathway for the patient.
Part-time employment is available and can be negotiated if you receive an offer; however, you are required to work full-time for the first approximately 22 weeks of employment to complete the necessary training.
Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate III Ambulance Communications (Call Taking) - HLT31015, a nationally accredited course paid for by SA Ambulance Service (SAAS).

Eligibility SAAS seeks applicants with the following abilities, values, and experience: Ability to prioritize patient care and work confidently with people at all levels to achieve positive outcomes Ability to remain calm and solve complex problems under stress Ability to listen, show empathy, and demonstrate compassion towards vulnerable clients/patients Ability to effectively engage and build trust with people from diverse backgrounds, preferably over the telephone Proficiency in sound interpersonal and communication skills, including verbal and written communication Demonstrate integrity, honesty, professionalism, and confidentiality Ability to balance patient needs with adherence to protocols and instructions Experience in managing competing priorities under pressure Experience working in a multidisciplinary team for positive outcomes Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office applications Good geographical knowledge of metropolitan Adelaide and Regional South Australia Applicants must hold a current HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid qualification to be eligible for appointment.
