As Caseworker ICM, you will specifically:
• Deliver best practice statutory casework services to young people with minimal supervision using high level assessment and intervention skills to deliver integrated and culturally appropriate services, including intensive weekly engagement with families, community organisations and other key stakeholders, in accordance with the legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
• Prepare and present information and evidence to the Children's Court, including an ability to conduct pre and post court interviews, liaise with key court stakeholders and prepare pre-sentence reports, affidavits and other documentation as required.
• Engage with and establish partnerships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers, in a number of local areas, to establish an appropriate therapeutic alliance to achieve quality casework outcomes.
• Provision and effective coordination of the therapeutic alliance, formulating a singular case plan with consistent action orientated goals to support the young person and their family members.
This may include assisting a parent/guardian, sibling and/or young person to obtain employment, re-engage in education, address substance misuse, access physical and mental health services, access safe housing, learn responsible parenting skills, address anti-social behaviour and improve community participation.
• Undertake a range of record and information management tasks including maintenance of case records, preparation of reports, and data entry to ensure casework and accountability in accordance with policy and procedures and as requested by Management.
• Liaise with and seek advice and approval from the relevant Youth Justice Service Centre staff in relation to the management of complex cases, development of programs, the exercising of statutory delegations, payment of program related costs and other matters as required.
• Actively participate in and deliver training and professional development activities to develop, maintain and enhance knowledge and competencies to ensure that service delivery is based on contemporary, evidence based, best practice principles and is consistent with current practice trends and departmental objectives.
• Actively participate in regular formal and informal supervision, apply self reflective practices and contribute to peer supervision.
• Undertake leadership and mentoring role to less experienced staff including supervision of Youth Workers involved in the Integrated Case Management Program
• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
