This is a key leadership role in overseeing and improving the Institute's customer-focusedbusiness partnering model and will provide a dedicated focus on strategic plandevelopment and implementation, financial forecasting and business intelligenceand to enable more effective, sustainable and informed decision making withinthe research operations.No two days will be the same in this varied role but typicallyyour day-to-day tasks will include:Oversee a team of project accountants and finance business partners, including supervision of accrual accounting processes, cashflow management, and monthly reconciliations.
Partnering with affiliate universities and relevant government agencies to ensure the timely collection and lodgement HERDC compliant financial data.
Collaborating with professional staff throughout the organisation to improve financial processes and integrate financial support services with other core support services, to ensure single point resolution.
Connecting with internal stakeholders to ensure financial reporting requirements are met, including the preparation and completion of regular financial statements and acquittals to funding organisations.
Conveniently based at Perth Children's Hospital in Nedlands, thisis a permanent full-time position.About You The ideal applicant will be a people-focussed financeprofessional, who thrives under pressure whilst handling competing priorities.
The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in cultivating meaningfulrelationships based on trust, along with:A tertiary qualification in commerce or business and an active member of CAANZ, CPA Australia or an equivalent international accounting body.
Substantial experience in a management/project accounting role, and technical knowledge of accounting standards, and their application in a project environment.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and leading a high performing team.
Industry experience in Academic Research or Health Services operations, or in a similar industry with a focus on financial management of grants or commercial contracts.
Experience in strategic plan implementation, the development and roll-out of financial policies and procedures and/or change management in a large organisation.
Demonstrated ability to build sustainable and value-add budgeting processes, business models and/or commercial pricing methodologies to support financial sustainability.
