This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025 with possible extension.
Carnarvon School of the Air (CSOTA) is one of 5 Schools of the Air based in Western Australia.
In the home school room students are assisted by a home tutor, usually the children's mother or a hired tutor.
Students 'meet' their fellow students daily on-air in their 'virtual classroom' where teachers conduct lessons with the capacity for each student to see each other.
Carnarvon is the regional centre for the Gascoyne and is positioned at the mouth of the Gascoyne River, 904 km north of Perth, between two World Heritage areas – Shark Bay to the south and the Ningaloo Reef which begins just north of the town site of Carnarvon.
Find out more about our school by visiting carnarvonsota.wa.edu.au or Schools Online The Role As the Program Coordinator – Curriculum and Teaching, you will work alongside the principal to lead the priority area of Quality Teaching within the CSOTA Strategic Plan.
As the successful applicant, you will ideally demonstrate flexibility and an adaptability within the role to meet the needs of the school.
Experience utilising effective change strategies to lead the school community in the implementation of the Ochre Education Pilot Program to ensure improved service in the curriculum area of English and Mathematics would be highly regarded We highly value applicants who have demonstrated exemplary classroom practice and a strong understanding of instructional strategies and a deep understanding of the Department of Education's Teaching for Impact resources to drive improvement.
It is highly desirable that applicants possess coaching and / or mentoring skills to support staff through whole school observation and feedback processes.
A commitment to fostering a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement is also highly regarded.
Please note that there may be a requirement to provide relief teaching or other duties as required by the principal.
