About The Role As the Senior Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide high-level clinical expertise and professional leadership in the delivery of evidence-based speech language pathology services across schools and regions.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting speech language pathologists across the state, guiding them in the application of complex, evidence-informed practices to enhance student learning outcomes particularly for students with diverse communication needs.
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service (DHHS), a statewide, borderless service, is seeking a skilled and passionate speech language pathologist with sign language proficiency to join their multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will have fluent Auslan skills and demonstrated experience in conducting assessments and delivering therapy for students who use Auslan as their primary or preferred mode of communication.
In this role, you will contribute specialised knowledge to support inclusive education practices, collaborating closely with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure students who are deaf or hard of hearing have equitable access to high-quality learning.
While this is a full-time position, flexible work arrangements, including job-sharing between part-time applicants, will be considered.

Your Responsibilities As the Senior Speech Language Pathologist (Clinical), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Conducting assessments with The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service students including those who use Auslan.
Provide training and support to teachers and other state schools speech language pathologists to build capacity and promote and ensure best practice in speech language pathology service delivery to DHH students.
Participate in service planning at a school and whole of state level.
Prepare written papers and reports, maintain records as required by the department and present papers and reports relating to the department's speech language pathology services for The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service students internally and in external forums.
Maintain currency of high level knowledge and skills relating to the department generally, and the provision of speech language pathology services in education to all children including those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
