Suncorp Graduate Program 2026 – Risk Engineer At Suncorp, our Risk Engineers are out in the field, helping businesses understand their risks and build safer, stronger operations.
As part of our two-year Graduate Program, you'll gain deep technical foundations, hands-on consulting experience, and personalised mentoring to launch your career as a trusted risk professional.
Applications close : Tuesday 26 August 2025 Program Commences : Wednesday 28 January 2026 Employment Type : Permanent full-time Minimum Starting Salary : $85,500 including super Location : Melbourne About The Program From day one, you'll make an impact by : Visiting diverse client sites – from small businesses to large-scale industrial facilities – assessing property, liability, and equipment risks Using your technical skills to evaluate our customer's operations against national and international standards, codes of practice and technical guidelines Building trusted relationships with customers, providing tailored recommendations that improve safety and reduce claims Partnering with underwriters to translate your findings into better business decisions Rotating across risk control, fee-based risk engineering, and underwriting teams for a complete view of risk management Developing your technical and consulting expertise through a bespoke training program and guidance from experienced mentors What We're Looking For We want graduates who are curious, people-focused, and ready to apply their technical knowhow to real-world challenges.
Preferred Degrees Engineering (civil, infrastructure, mechanical, electrical, chemical or building surveying)Physical sciences Skills We Value A problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn Confidence engaging with new people and environments Strong communication and relationship-building skills Genuine interest in helping businesses improve their safety and resilience Are open to travel : you may be required to travel as part of the Risk Engineering role (mostly local).
Who can apply?Full working rights in Australia Study completed at an Australian or New Zealand university Minimum bachelor's degree within the last two years (2023, 2024 or 2025 completion), or will complete prior to program commencing Minimum 'pass' grade Australian driver's licence (some local travel is part of the role).
