What you'll do While completing your industrial training, you will work on real projects with real responsibilities, alongside business owners, gaining diverse consulting engineering experience.
You will learn to: Design structures as part of a team within the Built Environment, focusing on elemental design for hospitals, education, sporting, and commercial projects.
Gain exposure to designing with materials like Post-Tensioned Concrete, Steel, and Timber.
Participate in site investigations under supervision.
Understand the structural design process from concept to construction.
Use software such as ETABS, RAPT, and Spacegass for structural analysis.
Perform structural calculations and prepare drawings to resolve design issues.
Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects with Civil, Sustainability, and Building Services teams.
Contribute to reducing embodied carbon in structural designs.
