What does a Dental Assistant do?
Dental Assistant's are an integral part of the team at any Dental office.
A Dental Assistant works closely with patients and colleagues everyday and strives towards providing a positive experience for all.
As a Trainee Dental Assistant, you'll study dentistry techniques and perform general office duties, including a range of patient care and laboratory duties

You will be working full time 38 hours per week while studying a Certificate III in Dental Assisting
If successful, you will be gaining experience in the workplace with one of our host employers.
Traineeship duration: 12 months

Duties may include but not limited to:

Greet patients and prepare them for treatment
Mix materials for fillings; sterilise and prepare instruments
Arrange and hand instruments, medication and dental materials to practitioners
Prepare dental materials and develop x-rays
Use suction devices and water sprays
Perform routine maintenance on equipment
May advise patients on dental health education and post-operative care
May act as receptionist for dental practitioners, perform billing and other clerical tasks.
Maintaining high standards of infection control
Any other tasks requested by the host employer

Be well presented, enthusiastic, reliable and punctual
Be motivated with a positive attitude
Must have strong attention to detail & good dexterity skills
High level of personal presentation
Great listening abilities & compassionate nature
