The service provides general medical and surgical services, maternity and obstetrics, a renal dialysis unit, and chemotherapy infusion services.
The Barossa Hills Fleurieu LHN covers Gawler, the Barossa, the Adelaide Hills, Southern Fleurieu, and Kangaroo Island.
SA Pharmacy operates via a Hub and Spoke model from three peri-urban hospitals: Gawler, Mt Barker, and Southern Fleurieu.
The pharmacy team is welcoming and supportive, with ongoing population growth and service expansion opportunities.
About the role We seek a dedicated Senior Pharmacist to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and cost-effective pharmacy services for acute inpatients.
You will optimize drug therapy, ensure safe medication management, and support discharge planning.
You will provide expert advice to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals, contribute to clinical and counselling services, and work closely with staff to enhance patient care and health outcomes.
The Senior Pharmacist reports to the Regional Lead Pharmacist, supports the pharmacy team, and demonstrates independence, professional judgment, and clinical expertise.
This role offers opportunities to contribute to medicines safety strategies, implement new automated dispensing systems, and provide staff education.
About you We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Pharmacist passionate about hospital pharmacy services.
You will have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and independently.
Technical expertise, high attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of pharmacy legislation, clinical pharmacy practice, patient counselling, and medicines information.
Experience in hospital pharmacy, with adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
