Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced and talented Executive Chef to setup Flinders Street Wharves' & The Docks in Townsville, QLD.
As the new Executive Chef, you will be responsible for kitchen set up, purchasing equipment, supplier contracts, leading and managing our kitchen operations, creating exceptional dining experiences, and ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence.

What you'll be doing Oversee all FSW kitchen operations, including menu development, recipe creation, and food preparation for multiple services including breakfast, casual dining with flair and including "The Docks" which will be the premium dining precinct.
Find, manage and mentor a team of talented chefs, creating staff culture, ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality dishes Develop and implement innovative culinary concepts that align with the hotels brand and vision for kitchen operations of 2 kitchens Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards Monitor and control food and labour costs to maintain profitability Collaborate with the management team to drive the overall success of the restaurant What we're looking for Minimum 2 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef role in high volume establishment.
A calm leader that thrives in a busy service Proven track record of building, leading and managing a high-performing kitchen team Excellent culinary skills, including a deep understanding of various cooking techniques and a passion for using fresh, local ingredients, strong knowledge of meat and seafood.
