The Service employs 175 staff (106.5 EFT), has 184,389 members and manages a total collection of 437,895 items.
In 2024/25 visits to libraries totalled 1,395,569 and total income from all sources in 2024/25 was $18.2m.
Yarra Plenty Regional Library is seeking to appoint an entrepreneurial, innovative and contemporary leader as Chief Executive Officer to drive the organisation forward on a trajectory of enhanced operational performance and greater community connection.
The CEO is responsible for supporting the Board and ensuring the effective and efficient management of the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
Supported by the executive management team, the CEO will lead and manage the organisation's strategic direction, providing high-quality leadership to meet organisational objectives and strategic outcomes and to foster a positive workplace culture.
The CEO will also work to build and strengthen relationships with the three member Councils, working with the Councils on tailoring services to cater for their diverse and growing communities.
With an upcoming EBA negotiation and the need to implement a new constitutional structure for the organisation in line with the move towards a Not-for-Profit operating model, the CEO will actively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including all levels of Government, working closely and collaboratively with the Board to deliver organisational outcomes that can meet the challenges of the future and provide overarching community good.
Candidates will bring highly developed people-leadership and relationship management skills, a calm and measured approach and demonstrated experience in, or a strong understanding of, a complex community service delivery sector such as Local Government.
