Manager Risk and Controls (14 Month Secondment) Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Sydney, Australia Do work that matters: The Business Banking (BB) Governance team aims to enable BB leadership to make informed, high-quality risk and reward decisions to achieve operational and strategic goals.
We provide advice and support in managing non-financial risks, monitor and report to senior management, ensure prompt escalation, and promote efficiency through automation and standardisation.
This role is a secondment opportunity until February 2027.
See yourself in our team: You will drive consistency, simplicity, and efficiency in the governance framework and processes, engaging senior stakeholders to embed governance improvements.
Your focus will be on continuous improvement and operational excellence across risk committees and forums, enhancing governance frameworks.

Daily responsibilities include: Ensuring effective operation of BB risk committees and sub-committees to support senior management in overseeing Operational Risk and Compliance.
Supporting committee chairs, members, and business areas to provide high-quality, relevant information for decision-making and risk management.
Applying critical thinking to identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and best practices in governance, such as tracking committee actions and reporting risk metrics.
Assisting in preparing submissions for Committees and the Board.
Supporting other activities aligned with the objectives of the BB Chief Controls Office.
Your experience looks like: Strong technical knowledge in Operational Risk, Strategy, and Governance.
Solution-oriented mindset balancing stakeholder needs.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Experience in process improvement and delivering measurable benefits.
Critical, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
Proven ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
