Our Operations team spans banking and lending, payments, risk, AML, delivery and customer services—driving solutions where no two days are the same.
The key objective of this role is to be the 'voice of risk and compliance' in Line 1 and help ensure our Operations division is meeting People First Bank's risk and compliance management and risk culture expectations by appropriately balancing risk with the growth aspirations of the business.
Other key responsibilities include : Demonstrate compliance with policies and procedures to effectively operate within People First Bank's risk appetite.
Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to role by keeping up to date with communications and assigned learning.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in portfolio and the broader business to ensure risk is managed and that there is understanding of the desired risk culture.
Work in consultation with second and third lines of defence (Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit).
Ensure all practices comply with regulatory obligations and aligned with the People First Bank's internal policy and procedure.
Implement learnings from risk management and remediation activities to develop business and people capability in the division in terms of risk and compliance education and assurance.
Location : We are seeking applicants who can work from our Adelaide or Brisbane head office locations.
About you : We are seeking a risk professional with 3-5 years of sound operational risk experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
You will have a strong knowledge of best-practice tools and techniques for effective analysis and root cause identification, as well as risk within change.
You will be someone who confidently partners with our stakeholders to foster a positive risk culture while knowing when to constructively challenge.
In this role, your successwill be measured by the quality and effectiveness of your risk advice and support,compliant, risk-based decisionswith a balanced risk versus reward mindset.
