If you have an engineering background and a knack for conceptualising and presenting technical solutions, we'd love to see you apply Role Description: As a member of the solutions team, you'll be a vital part of a collaborative group including Business Development Managers, Solution Architects, and fellow Solution Design Engineers.
Our team members bring diverse backgrounds – from mechatronics engineering and industrial design to business administration and sales.
At Applied, we are driven by innovation, engaging with prospective customers from their initial exploration of automation, through pre-tender concept development, to crafting final tender submissions.
We consult, design, and package comprehensive proposals that capture project objectives, technical requirements, strategic approaches, solution overviews, performance metrics, cost modules, and delivery timelines.
Our expertise spans a wide range of advanced automation technologies, including robotics, Vision Systems, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and safety systems.
We work directly with decision-makers overseeing national and APAC operations, ensuring our customised solutions align perfectly with their strategic goals and deliver significant return on investment.
We are a full turn-key project provider, offering: Conceptual and detailed design Manufacturing Ongoing support Role Responsibilities: Visit customer sites to deeply understand and capture both technical specifications and commercial drivers for return on investment (ROI).
Collaborate internally with our Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Controls, and Production teams to develop optimal solutions.
Conceptualise and design automation solutions, transforming client problems into innovative concepts.
Develop compelling presentations and pitch your concept solutions to prospective customers.
Craft comprehensive proposal documentation that forms the basis of contracts, detailing the solution's functionality, performance, and commercial aspects.
Research and evaluate cutting-edge technologies from leading brands, consulting with specialists to integrate them effectively into our solutions.
Develop strong commercial acumen, understanding that our customers are making significant financial capital decisions where ROI is paramount.
Receive mentorship and guidance from the Solutions General Manager and Senior Solutions Engineers.
Skills, Experience and qualifications: Customer-facing experience with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong design thinking skills with an ability to brainstorm and innovate.
Mechanical Design or Industrial Design background.
Ability to perform cycle time modelling and other performance estimations.
Experience in generating and writing clear, persuasive technical proposals.
A foundation in engineering principles (e.g., Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical).
An eagerness to develop commercial acumen and understand financial drivers.
Experience with or a strong interest in robotics, vision systems, or general industrial automation concepts.
Problem-solving mindset with a detail-oriented approach.
