See yourself in our team You will be part of a team contributing to our core customer systems, financial crime and other key functions of the domain.As a Chief Engineer, you'll be a key leader of our central Engineering team, that will help other engineers to enjoy our platforms in CBA.
With a strong security-first mindset, you'll ensure that every line of code is built for resilience.
You'll also lead by example, mentoring and inspiring others to develop their engineering skills and create world-class applications.
We're interested in hearing from people who: Have extensive experience presenting to senior business stakeholders and owning an entire domain worth of business services Thrive on building large-scale enterprise software and have the experience to prove it Bring a broad technical experience with a strong foundation in engineering Take a pragmatic approach to addressing technical debt, balancing commercial needs and technical priorities Can identify, secure support for and execute on a clear technical direction and strategy Have a track record of solving complex technical challenges, including implementing new tooling and sunsetting obsolete systems Encourage risk-taking, challenge the status quo constructively, and foster collaboration across diverse, inclusive teams Skills Required: This is a highly technical role, requiring a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks.
You'll be a good match if you have previous experience in: Building applications both on-premise and in cloud environments.
You will be language agnostic but you will be familiar with any of the following: Frontend: React, Angular; Backend: Java; Database: Experience SQL and No SQL experience (both admin and usage) Designing and implementing large scale systems Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills Maintaining code quality through peer programming, code reviews, and automated release management Leading technical teams and mentoring engineers to develop their technical and leadership skills Working with us Whether you're passionate about customer service, driven by data, or called by creativity, a career with Comm Bank is for you.
