This recruitment pool will run for a period of twelve months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts and permanent opportunities.
Currently, there is one permanent position and one fixed term contract available for immediate filling.

About The Role The Adult Women's Prisons Directorate supports the custodial operations with implementation of performance framework and service delivery standards for women across the state custodial facilities.
The team works collaboratively with the Deputy Commissioners to ensure custodial operations, services and programs are delivered to women offenders in the regional prisons.
The Senior Project Officer supports the Assistant Superintendent Custodial Operations in the team with an array of correspondences including inquiries from internal and external stakeholders and risk management.
The Senior Project Officer provides high quality reports, briefings, and submissions in accordance with agreed standards of quality and timeliness.
The Senior Project Officer also undertakes comprehensive and strategic research and analysis that assists with delivery of the Custodial Operations for Women.
Role Specific Responsibilities Plans, undertakes and manages research, environmental scanning and analysis necessary to identify best practice with respect to performance management of the public prison system; Designs and implements performance criteria to assess prison performance; both individually and as a whole prison system; that are aligned a systematic evidence based approach that allow for continuous business optimism; Consults and negotiates with stakeholders, advises and makes recommendations to senior management and other key participants in connection to strategies and programs relevant to the project objectives; Prepares and presents comprehensive reports, memos and other documents incorporating research and feedback to inform the strategic decision making process within the Division and across the Agency.

Achieve Results The ability to; evaluate project/program performance, identify areas of improvement and initiate changes to ensure positive outcomes, deal positively with uncertainty and cope in a changing environment, able to determine appropriate actions despite a lack of clarity, a focus on quality, adherence to current procedures and managing projects to completion within a set timeframe are fundamental to this role.
Builds Productive Relationships The capacity to network effectively in order to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, team members and other staff in the agency, to actively listen to staff, colleagues and stakeholders involved in the reform program and encourage engagement and contribution to the process is a requirement for this role.

Communicates and Influences Effectively A demonstrated ability to present messages confidently and persuasively and to successfully listen, understand and adapt to a range of audiences is a requirement for this role.
Role Specific Criteria Demonstrated experience and skills in the management and coordination of complex projects in a large, multi-disciplinary organisation is essential.
Knowledge of the factors impacting Women in custody.
Eligibility Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
